Not tall enough for the rides, but big in spirit!

Teagan didn't get to do much at the MOA today, but she did get to let loose after we got home.  And boy did she have some energy to burn!  She outlasted Piper, and even got to help Dan tuck Piper into bed. :)  Now, the Energizer Bunny (as they call her at daycare since she never sleeps and is still always alert and happy) finally crashed.

The Aquarium and Nickelodeon Universe

Today we took the girls to the Mall of America - we hit the Aquarium, the food court, the cookie kiosk, and ended with a few rides at Nickelodeon Universe (Piper - Teagan didn't meet the height requirements) and a final stop at Haagan Dazs.  It was a very fun day.  Piper said her favorite part was going on the balloon ride and the ferris wheel with Baba.  Baba could be either me or Dan - she's taken to calling us both Baba.  In this case it was me, since I was the one who went on the rides with her while Dan wrestled with a sleepy and hungry Teagan on the sidelines.  Teagan is an angel baby though - she was a trooper all day.  It was a great way to spend a Sunday!  Now everyone is in bed, and I'm about to get there myself!

Beach birthday party!

Piper went to her friend Maddie's birthday party on Sunday.  It was beach themed - she had a great time.  Video to follow, it won't upload tonight.

On Saturday she had been invited to Andrew's birthday party. He was having a magician!  But, sadly, she doesn't know who Andrew is, so we skipped that one. ;)

Tower power

When Dan picked Piper up at school the other day, she wanted to show him the cool tower she built!  She insisted he take a picture.  It *is* a cool tower.  The only trouble is, it's the one with the cow on top.  So it's a bit overshadowed by the super tall one with the boy on top.  A valuable life lesson for Piper:  always build next to kids who aren't as good at building as you are.  Positioning yourself well is everything.

:)

Goggles

Last night, Piper tried out her Jake and the Neverland Pirates goggles for the first time!  She was kind of jazzed about the idea of wearing goggles, but overall didn't like the actual experience too much.  She said they squished her head.  I agreed (I mean, they do), but told her the payoff was sooooo worth it - you get to SEE underwater!  She kept them on just long enough for a photo op.  We'll try again another day :)

Tutus

Trinity is 3!

This morning Piper and Teagan attended a birthday party for Piper's friend Trinity.  Piper took a while to warm up but then had fun.  By the end, of course, she didn't want to leave.  There was pizza, cake and a piniata.  And Piper and Teagan came home with goodie bags and matching pink tutus.  Teagan is in her car seat passed out asleep in her tutu.  Piper is about to crash for a nap.  We hope.

We really hope that.

A recap in phone pics

I have a bunch of photos of the girls on my phone - mostly they're pics taken when we're out doing something or I want to capture a moment quickly and my camera is not readily in reach.  But some are fun, and they rarely make it onto the blog or a Facebook post, so I thought I'd upload a few to share.  It's a hodgepodge of places and happenings.

Piper on our mother-daughter "date night" to Panera.  Throughout our entire meal she was peeking over the booth, making eyes and faces at a woman who I thought was seated across the restaurant.  Turns out, she was seated directly on the other side of the booth.  She was a good sport, and seemed to enjoy Piper :)

Hero doesn't care for car rides too much, actually.  He doesn't like to be left behind, so he always wants to come along. But then he seems rather uneasy and sick the whole time...

These are just cute ones of the ladies playing together.

A ladies outing to Target.  Piper likes to sit in the cart, so we have to get creative and pile the groceries around Teagan.

Teagan and her famous tongue, taking a bath in the TeaganTub.

Piper joining me in a Starbucks run. I got "mommy chai". She got pound cake the size of her head.

Piper on a bike ride through the neighborhood trails.  It's important to stop for frequent refueling.

Piper at the gym locker room with me, after going swimming in the pool.  Ditto on the refueling.

Piper preparing for a trip to school on a rainy day.

Piper - at Target - after hearing the word "no".  This is a pretty typical reaction.

Piper during another bike riding adventure.  More refueling.

Teagan, looking thug.

Hope you enjoyed the trip down my phone's memory lane. :)

Teagan's PTO

On Monday morning when I lifted Teagan out of her car seat to hand her over to her daycare providers, I realized she was covered in a rash!  She had been pretty puny over the weekend, however by Sunday evening had been feeling much better.  But as you can imagine, she was persona non grata at daycare.  We took her to the pediatrician and they said she couldn't go back until she was rash-free.  Which means, Teagan got to stay home for three days this week!  Today she was pretty much back to normal when she woke up, but I figured I'd keep her home one more day.  Since she was feeling well, we went for a walk and it was her first time in the jogging stroller!  She doesn't look very happy in this photo, but honestly, this is just her face during a lot of new experiences.  Note the telltale sucking of her bottom lip. Either she's tired or a bit unsure.  But she enjoyed herself, I think :)

All the women...

...independent... throw your hands up at me!

Teagan can drink her bottle all by herself! (Sort of, when she feels like it, actually on rather rare occasion.)

She has a little trouble being serious though, and staying focused on the task at hand.  So usually about half way through she starts to shake the bottle around willy nilly and just squirts herself in the face.
