Fall Festival 2017

Today we went to the Fall Festival downtown.  It was fun(ish) - several of the businesses on Main Street were giving out candy for trick-or-treating.  I expected more - lots of the businesses weren't participating and there were no other activities set up for the kids.  But, the girls enjoyed getting candy and overall felt like our trip was a success.  So if they're happy, I'm happy :)

Reunion

Tonight we went to two Halloween parties!  The first was at TenderTime, the girls' old stompin' grounds!  Piper and Teagan each got to see some of their past teachers and friends. 

Our second party was at the Maple Grove Art Center.  We arrived toward the end, but they had a magician who was still performing and was really pretty good.  The girls loved watching him do his tricks.  It takes a lot to impress these two, but they were quite engaged in the show!

Another corn maze

Today we went to the corn maze that's right up the street from us.  It's kind of a big deal and people come from all over the Twin Cities.  They have a maze, corn pit, giant slide, bouncy houses and lots of concessions.  As expected, lots of fun was had.

Of course, where there's fun and excitement, there's also some minor squabbling and tears ;)  Only lasted a few minutes though. And they're kinda cute when they're angry.

Apple Jack's

Today we went to Apple Jack's apple orchard to pick apples!  Turns out, there's a lot more to do at an apple orchard than just pick apples.  They had a play area with wooden tractors and trucks, a jumping pillow, a corn pit, a corn maze, and a train ride!  I always knew I was missing out on something by not going apple picking (a Fall staple here in MN, and probably in lots of other places around the country), but I had no idea I was missing out on all this!

Fun run

Today was the fun run at Piper and Teagan's school!  They each did a great job running!  Piper did 36 laps (the max!) and Teagan ran for 15 minutes (they don't count laps for the little ones)!  Dan and I had a great time cheering them on :)

After Teagan's fun run and before Piper's, we got to have lunch with both girls in the cafeteria!

Meet Spotty

Today Sadie turned 8.  For her birthday, she (and her family) took Piper to MOA to do Build a Bear!  Both Sadie and Piper built the same 'bear', a confetti spotted leopard.  Piper named hers Spotty.

It was a magical day for Piper.  What a special invitation - hope it was a very special day Sadie!
