So long for now, dear friend

A few weeks ago, Hero went to live with his new family.  They're a wonderful family - two kids (boy, 13 and girl, 11), 2 dogs (pointer and terrier).  Active lifestyle, lots of love.  Hero will get walks, trips to the dog park, kids who play with him, and canine companionship - all of which he's longed for and we want for him.  We got to spend a fair amount of time with the family who adopted him, and things really couldn't have worked out any better - we feel confident that his future will be bright.  About a week and a half after he left, his new family sent us an email sharing how wonderful he's doing, how much they love him and that they are so happy that he's joined their family.  They also told us that so far there has only been one food casualty - a grilled cheese sandwich.  That sounds about right.

But we miss him very, very much.  You can say a lot of things about Hero, but you can't say he isn't a memorable, and very lovable, little guy.  We love you Hero - we hope you have an awesome life filled with snuggles, adventure, and lots of admirable food-swiping maneuvers :)
