Pilgrimage to the Jersey shore

Here are some photos from our time on the Jersey shore this summer with Oma and Opa.  We had a fantastic visit making the most of each day, spending time with Oma and Opa and being together as a family.

We had fun at the pool club!  Dan and Piper practiced holding their breath under water, and swimming with their faces in the water blowing bubbles out instead of holding their noses.  A lot of progress was made!  Teagan had fun playing in the water and swimming back and forth to visit dad and Piper in the deeper end.

We had fun at the beach!  The girls were very brave and adventurous!  Piper loved swimming in the ocean and riding the waves, and Teagan loved doing that too (but she got cold in there very quickly!) We jumped around in the waves on the shore and built some sand castles.  On the ride home from the beach, we took a tour down Ocean Avenue to see all the mansions :)

We had fun going on walks to our neighborhood ice cream parlor!  We went almost every night.  On the 3rd of July, we happened to be walking past just a father was setting off a stellar fireworks show in the their backyard - they were directly overhead and we had a perfect vantage point!

We had fun climbing in the cherry tree in the front yard!  Piper got very good at working her way up the branches.  Last summer, she got some minor scratches while scaling the tree, but this year she rocked the party injury-free!  (Teagan did some supervised climbing as well!)

We had fun at the playground!  We took these pictures because we've taken an annual picture of the cousins on this slide for years.  This year, we didn't overlap with the Overends during our visit - they were in NJ directly before and then shortly after we were.  This first picture symbolizes their absence and that of course we missed them ;)

We were lucky to have nice weather, and the girls really loved each activity we did. It was such a fun trip for us!
